The KLR650 Gets Heated Grips

It's been cold and snowy this winter so heated grips became a priority. With Ed's approval, I bought a grip heater kit, some new gel grips, and I got to work.

I mounted the Hi/Lo/Off switch just ahead of the gauges where it is out of the way, but easily reached.

The new grips went on easily and are very comfortable to hold on to. The heating elements are under the grips (and I forgot to take pictures!).

With the heaters installed on a sunny day with temps in the upper 20's, I decided to take a ride to test them out. I had no destination in mind but ended up around Lemont and Palos, riding through forest preserve areas and along frigid lakes.
